Alewerks Brewing Company
Business Details
Back in 2006, before it was cool to brew craft beer, Chuck Haines had a bright idea to open a brewery in Williamsburg. Inspired by his time in Europe, Chuck wanted to share his passion for authentic, craft-brewed ales with Virginia. He rolled his sleeves up and started brewing in what was a very different, and significantly more challenging, time for craft beer. Doors didn't open to craft beer as easily, and it was through Chuck's determination and perseverance that Alewerks was able to establish a foothold.
In 2008, Geoff Logan was brought on board as Brewmaster and immediately began receiving awards and accolades for his delicately crafted brews. The craft-beer market began to expand, as did Alewerks' portfolio, including the introduction of many our our now-classic recipes like BBP, Café Royale, Bitter Valentine, and Pumpkin Ale. 2015 saw Chuck take his well-deserved retirement and pass the mantle of Managing Director to Geoff, leading to Alewerks being the rare, brewer-driven brewery. Here the beer truly does come first.
Alewerks remains committed to quality, even as we continually increase production. We take great pride in each and every ounce of beer we brew, whether
